About Us

Our Story

Urban Edge Wildlife Management was founded by Regan Calley, a former police officer with a long-standing commitment to public safety and ethical wildlife management. After a distinguished career as a Western Australia Police Detective, Regan transitioned his skills into the environmental sector, bringing precision, professionalism, and a deep understanding of risk assessment to the pest control industry.

He is a licensed pest control shooter in Western Australia, with advanced qualifications in health, safety, and environmental best practices. Regan’s work reflects a lifetime of discipline, leadership, and tactical thinking — now applied to protecting Western Australia’s farms, vineyards, and local communities from invasive and damaging pest species.

A trained snake handler in Western Australia, Regan also brings expertise in safe animal handling, giving clients peace of mind in high-risk or sensitive situations. Whether removing rabbits from rural land, controlling pigeons for councils, or managing wildlife around vineyards, Regan’s experience makes him a wildlife pest management expert who sets the benchmark for professionalism in this field.

Environmental Care

We focus on humane, targeted control methods that minimise disruption to ecosystems and non-target species.

Professionalism

From the moment we arrive to the moment we leave, clients can expect structured communication, licensed operation, and real results.

Our Process

At Urban Edge, we approach every job with care, planning, and compliance at the forefront. Here’s how our process works:

Initial Contact

Clients contact us via phone or online to discuss their pest issue and request a quote.

On-Site Assessment

Regan conducts a site visit to evaluate the pest activity, environmental conditions, and legal considerations.

Risk & Method Planning

We determine the safest and most effective course of action, whether that’s ground shooting, trapping, snake removal, or rabbit warren excavation.

Service Delivery

Using approved methods and licensed equipment, Regan performs the job with precision and efficiency.

Follow-Up Advice & Prevention

We provide clients with tips to reduce future pest issues and can install monitoring tools like GPS or trail cameras where needed.

Why We Stand Out

Unlike many pest control operators in Western Australia — who are often hobby shooters or part-time volunteers — Urban Edge Wildlife Management is a fully licensed, credentialed, and regulated business. We’re not “just another pest guy with a gun.” Regan’s unique combination of law enforcement experience, environmental safety training, and professional certifications makes him a professional pest control shooter who councils, farmers, and businesses can trust.

This level of skill and structure simply doesn’t exist in the volunteer space. We offer emergency response times, consistent communication, and strict adherence to legal and ethical guidelines — no shortcuts, no risk-taking, and no corner-cutting. That’s why Urban Edge is the preferred choice for those who demand both safety and results.

What Our Client's Said

We have engaged Regan Calley from Urban Edge Wildlife Management multiple times to help us manage the Parrot population in our Native Tree Nursery at Tincurrin in the Southern Wheatbelt.

The Parrots had learned over time, that fresh Acacia seed planted in the nursery was easy picking. Before Regan came to our property, we were losing up to 75% of Acacia seed sown.

Over multiple trips to our Nursery, Regan was successful in reducing the Parrot seed loss to virtually 0%. The strategy was to cull the local Parrot population with the learned Acacia seed knowledge.

This proved to be the perfect solution for us. Within weeks we noticed that there appeared to be no noticeable change in Parrot numbers in the Nursery area but were no longer suffering the huge seed loss in the newly planted crops.

It has been a pleasure getting to know Regan and having him stay with us on his trips to the Nursery.
